Course Description

 

Morning Course

This course will help you develop basic language skills you will need to socialize in an English-speaking environment.  We will focus on building up your confidence as you learn English and will give you the tools and skills you will need to be able to interact with other native speakers.

 

Afternoon Course

This course is for beginning level students who want to practice basic listening and speaking skills.  As a beginner student, you will get help in basic listening, speaking and pronunciation skills.  Your aim will be to talk with native speakers with confidence in daily topics.  The course will help you focus on listening and speaking skills so that you are able to understand what other native speakers say and talk with them.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the course, we hope that you will be able to:

Morning Course:

  1. Develop listening skills needed to understand native speakers.
  2. Follow and get the main meaning of conversations between native speakers.
  3. Speak with some confidence with native speakers in general daily topics such as greetings, shopping, family, etc.
  4. Build vocabulary about different common daily topics so that you can express yourself better.
  5. Express basic feelings in English.  For example, offering help, agreeing and disagreeing with what  people say, arguing about a topic, explaining feelings to a doctor, reporting an emergency or accident and expressing surprise.

 

Afternoon Course:

  1. Speak with other English speakers in common everyday topics like family, weather, shopping, travel, and hobbies.
  2. Have basic tools to help you start and follow a basic conversation with native speakers without being afraid of making mistakes.
  3. Identify basic pronunciation features in English and replicate native-like pronunciation of words and phrases.
  4. Learn and appreciate different ways people see the world.
  5. Develop some basic reading and writing skills necessary to function well in an English-speaking country
  6. Understand your learning style and be able to check your own progress.
