Study & Work Program 

International students will experience a real Canadian work environment, improving their English skills in a communicative way. The candidate will develop their communication skills while gaining valuable work experience. The program offers an exiting way to learn English and immerse students in Canadian culture.

The program helps students get paid positions within the service industries. From the beginning of the program GEOS Vancouver will provide students support in job placement and preparation until the program ends.

some of the positions offered in the Vancouver area: Hotels (room-service), restaurants, coffee shops, retail shops, guest services, housekeeping, food & beverage services, maintenance and more!

Pay rate: The general guideline would be starting from CAD$8.00 to CAD$10.00 per hour.

ENGLISH +WORK

 STEP 1 Learn or improve your English at GEOS Language Academy Vancouver, for a minimum of 12 weeks in our Intensive or Full-Time English Program. In order to move on and start applying for jobs, you need to meet ONE of the following requirements:

 

  • achieve a TOEIC score of 650 ar a TOEFL score of 70.
  • Completion of GEOS Canada's level 4 (High-Intermediate) Program.

 NOTE Please note that students interested in these programs must be 19 years old and must have valid Canadian Study and Work Permits (Co-op Permit) or Working Holiday Visa.

STEP 2 After completion of the Intensive or Full-Time English Program at GEOS Vancouver, students will then be provided with the revelant job placements services and training before the work program begins. Feedback and follow-up services will be provided during the work program period.

  • Certification will be issued to the student at the end of the program

Business Internship Program

International students will gain work experience in a professional work environment, and develop business communication skills. These Professionals will and apply their expertise with the goal of improving their employment opportunities internationally.

GEOS Vancouver is presently working with several partners, guaranteeing a variety of unpaid internship positions in a large variety of industries.

Some of the positions offer for the Business Internship Program: Science, Engineering, IT, Graphic design, Accounting, Marketing, Administration, Tourism, Trade, NGO and much more.

Internship Study Program includes:

I did the Internship program in Vancouver and it was amazing. the best experience in my life!! First I studied in TOEFL class for 3 months and then I started to work as a clerk. I met a lot of people from different countries and learned a lot about their culture. I met friends that I will carry for the rest of my life. The teachers are great and they bring a lot of fun to the classroom which makes the learning much easier. at work I had a great welcoming, they were all very kind and understanding. It was very good because I could practice my english. It has been an amazing experience!

When I arrived in Vancouver I found much more than I expected, I came to learn englsih and I'm leaving with a huge cultural baggage, I improved my Englsih consderably, but also made great friendship that I'm sure will lats, I have invitations to visit several other countries and I had so much fun.
