MEET OUR STAFF
This month we would like to introduce you to one of our teachers, Kiran.
Kiran was born and raised here and is a true Vancouverite. Kiran has always had a passion for teaching and has a great deal of experience teaching in the classroom as well as volunteering for various educational organizations. Kiran gained most of her ESL teaching experience here in Vancouver, but she has also had the opportunity to work overseas in South Korea and India. Kiran started working for us in 2009, and students love her open and engaging style. Students have said that she ‘communicates clearly’ and ‘gives lots of examples’, so it’s ‘easy and fun to learn’. As someone who grew up here, Kiran welcomes the chance to introduce students to this beautiful city and help them achieve their language goals!

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL
When I had a question but it’s not concerned with lesson, staff helped me a lot and it was helpful. My class is so good and my classmate and teachers are very fun. Sometimes the class is noisy but it’s so funny. My favorite activity is to go out and we can listen native English so I like it.
Best memory in GEOS is activity which we went to the ice cream shop and we could eat a lot of taste but the wasabi taste is terrible. I don’t recommend it. Actually I like to study English at GEOS! Now, I really enjoy studying English and Vancouver. I made lots of friends so I’m very happy! Thank you!!

The teachers and GEOS Staff have been helpful for me and because of that, I could improve my English and I could find someone when I need something in special.
And the class has been interesting so far and my favorite one is Grammar class with Tomoko.
I think staff was helpful for me and the teachers, Kiran and Catherine are very patient with the students so I do have good time in GEOS Vancouver.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
To mark the end of summer and to say goodbye to some awesome graduating students, GEOS hosted a Potluck Party. Many of our students participated by bringing lots of delicious international dishes. We had no idea there were so many good cooks in our school! Everyone had a great time trying out all the different foods. Some student brought spicy food and some students brought sweets and rice cakes. It was an excellent opportunity for students to try new foods from different cultures. This is always a popular activity and we hope to have another Potluck Party again very soon.
