WHAT's HAPPENING IN VANCOUVER IN SEPTEMBER

The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is an annual Film Festival held in Vancouver, for two weeks in late September and early October. The festival began in 1982 and is operated by the Greater Vancouver International Film Festival Society, a provincially registered non-profit and federally registered charitable organization. It is good chance for people to check out international movies and we hope all students enjoy the VIFF.

Also be sure to check out all the great markets, including the Chinatown Night Market, The Steveston Farmers' & Artisans' Market, The Summer Night Market – Richmond, The Lonsdale Quay Farmers' Market and The Robson Square Artisan Market, a great way to spend the day or evening.

And, of course, everyone is looking forward to the start of a new ice-hockey season! The first pre-season game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames is on September 20th. The Fall is a great time of year to come and enjoy all the fun events happening in Vancouver!

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL

Student Testimonial and Review of GEOS Vancouver, ESL School

Hi, My name is Jong Min Im from Korea. I’ve been Vancouver for 8month. When I came to Vancouver, I didn’t study English in GEOS. And it is my second school I attended in Vancouver.

I think my previous school had good teachers and friends, and also GEOS has many good teachers and friends, and then they’re kind and friendly. However, GEOS atmosphere is like family, because I know all of GEOS students, teachers and staffs. And then, GEOS have various course, like ESL, TOEFL, TEC, TESOL, IELTS and many others.

I don’t know all of course, but when I want to take another course, I could change it without any difficulty.

I took TEC and TESOL course. TEC and TESOL are learning theory about how can I teaching English for children and adult. When I took that course, my English skills were terrible, but when I finished that course, i was improving my english skills.

I think the location of GEOS is really good for students, because many school are very adjacent to sky train and middle of downtown, but GEOS is adjacent to the ocean and the Stanley park, so anytime we can enjoyed to hang out with friends. When I was study english in GEOS, I got a lot of confidence of using English and I made many international friends, so I was really happy about staying in GEOS. I would like to say “Thank you!”for having great life in Vancouver.

Student Testimonial, Rating, and Review of GEOS Vancouver, ESL School

I met lots of people from different countries and that make me feel awesome that I could share the story of different culture. I hope I could go out more with teachers and other students from other different countries.

About the Activities, all of them were very interesting and I enjoyed very much of class from Catherine and Kiran’s.

I think staff was helpful for me and the teachers, Kiran and Catherine are very patient with the students so I do have good time in GEOS Vancouver.

Thank you!
