Vancouver offers many leisure options - parks, shopping malls, cinemas and all these things close to you or easy access through public transport. The people are polite, sympathetic and the most important - it's easy to understand the Canadian people because they speak clear. The method which teachers conduct classes is great, with conversation, interaction and activities which we had real experiences where we had to improvise. I could enjoy so much each class. The lunch times at GEOS were really good. It was where I met other students and mainly made friends, always talking in English. In these moments, I could use what I learned in class to talk with people from different countries. More than learning English, I made friendships and I'm taking to my life a great cultural background. I went bowling and watched movies with 'free popcorn' with other students. Both were great. It was important, mainly for new students like me because I could meet people, make plans and other activities with other students - no more alone. GEOS staff were really helpful with me, always gave many examples for me understand and suggestions about places to go and things to do in Vancouver or close cities. They were very important and essential during my interchange in Vancouver. Vancouver is really beautiful city and is a great city to live!

I really like the weather, the transportation and the people in Vancouver. At GEOS, the teachers are amazing, the classmates are awesome and there are lots of activities. The GEOS staff and teachers are very helpful. I came here because I want to get a high score in IELTS test, and they helped me do it. Getting '7' in IELTS is me best memory ever!

Before making a decision to go to GEOS, Vancouver, I had plenty of questions and hesitation for sure.
Therefore, i kept emailing LOTS OF questions to the Coordinators - Charlene and Jiny:)
They were incredibly HELPFUL and showing their patience with answering every single questions of mine.
Also, Tomoko is very kind as well. I miss her smiles!

 

Speaking of the 4-week TESOL class, it was not easy AT ALL, but, all of us have improved our English and skills of teaching hugely at the end of the course! More importantly, our teacher (Laura) is pretty encouraging and brilliant!
I honestly never felt frustrated in these 4 weeks due to good atmosphere at GEOS and my lovely teacher and classmates! Frankly speaking, they are so important to me because my motivation always comes from THEM!

 

On the other hand, when i first came to GEOS, i was sort of surprised because GEOS is not very big.
However, it is actually GOOD because every student can easily meet different people in different classes!
Apparently, we always shared our own cultures. THAT WAS QUITE COOL AND FUN to know THE WORLD :)
And, this is something i CANNOT JUST learn from the textbooks :')
I am glad i have learnt something different and met a number of amazing friends.
Guess what, they are going to visit me in Hong Kong and i am also going to visit them in their countries!
How COULD it be BETTER,eh?!?!:D

 

Besides GEOS, most people in Vancouver are super friendly. I was absolutely impressed by their kindness!
For instance, sometimes, when i looked confused or i was holding a map, i did not even ask anything,
they just came up to me and asked if they could help me.
Undoubtedly,Vancouver is an AWESOME city! I had a lot of JOYFUL TIMES!

 

In other words, I am pretty sure I would NEVER EVER regret my decision :)
I miss GEOS Vancouver so much already..I so want to go back AGAIN!
Hence,well,it is on my DO LIST now! I am going to save up for it.:P

 

By the way, I know a lot of you might have some hesitation whether you should go to GEOS,Vancouver or not.
One of the reasons is you DO NOT want to waste your precious time and money in a wrong place.
Nevertheless, well,i would really say "GOOOO AHEAD!" I am sure you will have a lot of good times in Vancouver!

The teacher and GEOS Staff have been helpful for me and because of that, I could improve my English and I could find someone when I need something in special.

 

And the class has been interesting so far and my favorite one is Grammar class with Tomoko.

 

I met so many people who are from different place around world and that gave me good memories in Vancouver.

The Vancouver city is very beautiful!
There are great nature and people are very kind to me.
I want to visit to Vancouver again in the future.
My class is awesome and we had a lot of activity.

When I had a question but it's not concerned with lesson, staff helped me a lot and it was helpful.

 

My class is so good and my classmate and teachers are very fund. Sometimes the class is noisy but it's so funny.

 

My Favorite activity is to go out and we can listen native English so I like it.

 

Best memory in GEOS is activity which we went to the ice cream shop and we could eat a lot of taste but the wasabi taste is terrible.
I don't recommend it.

 

Actually I like to study English at GEOS! Now, I really enjoy studying English and Vancouver.

I like Vancouver very much and it's beautiful nature makes me peaceful and there are many festivals to enjoy so I'm always excited.

 

And It was really good to guess what other people were saying with only shape of mouth.it helped me know the importance of clear intonation.

 

When students graduated, every students gathered together to celebrate the graduation.

 

We took pictures together to keep these good memories and it was very nice day for me.

 

GEOS Staff and teachers are always very nice and helpful for me and whenever I ask teachers with questions, they always answer them kindly.

Hi, My name is Jong Min Im from Korea. I've been Vancouver for 8month. When I came to Vancouver, I didn't study English in GEOS. And it is my second school I attended in Vancouver.

 

I think my previous school had good teachers and friends, and also GEOS has many good teachers and friends, and then they're kind and friendly. However, GEOS atmosphere is like family, because I know all of GEOS students, teachers and staffs. And then, GEOS have various course,like ESL, TOFEL, TEC, TESOL, IELTS and many others.

 

I don't know all of course, but when I want to take another course, I could change it without any difficulty.

 

I took TEC and TESOL course. TEC and TESOL are learning theory about how can I teaching English for children and adult. When I took that course, my English skills were terrible, but when I finished that course, i was improving my english skills.

 

I think the location of GEOS is really good for students, because many school are very adjacent to sky train and middle of downtown, but GEOS is adjacent to the ocean and the Stanley park, so anytime we can enjoyed to hang out with friends. When I was study english in GEOS, I got a lot of confidence of using English and I made many international friends, so I was really happy about staying in GEOS. I would like to say "Thank you!"for having great life in Vancouver.

Teachers were really helpful, I really liked them. They were really kind and professional. They told a lot of different things I've never known.

 

My class was perfect and I like all my classmates. It seems to me that I've already studying here for some years. I like morning classes with Alison because she always say new things about grammar and vocabulary. And Tomoko's class is good because of great discussions and presentations.

I came to Vancouver last year on June and started studying in 'GEOS' since June 26th for 10 weeks before I went to college. The first day, when I went to my class room, there were many people from different countries. Everyone was so kind and friendly including teachers, students and counselors. When I was in 'GEOS', still many students were shy to speak in English because of their English skills, But all the teachers encouraged them to speak English and helped them whenever they needed help. I don't know about other ESL schools, But 'GEOS' was strict about 'English policy' and I guess this helped every students to speak English at least while they are inside the school. Furthermore, I think school gave us an opportunity to meet new friends from different countries with different cultures. I hung out with new friends and experienced new cultures. Even if I graduated long time ago, I still want to say thank you to everyone who's in 'GEOS' and strongly recommend to people whose looking for ESL school to learn English and desire to experience new things.

I took 4-week TEC course and found out I had a lot of chances to speak English in this class. All the classmates were friendly and close to each other and also their motivations were very high. This class helps your English skill, especially speaking skill, improve. I am more interested in a career as a teacher than before taking TEC course, even though I never thought being a teacher. If you consider taking TEC class, you should take it! You will enjoy school life more and find another way to learn English.

Hi~ my name’s Dayoung. I’m from South Korea. I’m a student in Vancouver GEOS. When I first came here, I could feel much difficulty for adjusting myself to new environment but I have gain confidence go to GEOS. My ex-speaking teacher, Jennifer, was so nice. She gave me extra homework and corrected everyday. My grammar teacher, Tomoko, had amazing energy. She always did her best during our class. All we teachers were kind and loving. The classes in Geos are very interesting. Especially, I have learned about grammar and it’s really useful. I’ve been going a lot of friends easily because Geos has many activities. Korean coordinator always helps me. So I would like thank her kindness.

I arrived here when the spring started. The trees have flowers and the streets are so nice!!!!

 

I fell in love with Vancouver. The people are very educated and help you with all the things you need. The city is so safe and the public transportation is very easy: You can go to all the places by bus or Skytrain and have a lot of beautiful places for you to know.

 

I was on vacation in Brazil and came to Canada to study English. It was the best experience in my life. My English improved so much and I had a chance to exchange experiences with people from other countries.

 

My teachers were so patient and I had 4 hours of class every day. I learned grammar, listening and about Canadian lifestyle. If you can, I will come back to Canada!!!

I studied English for six months, it was the best experience of my life, because I learned English, I met a lot of friends and I learn so much about their culture.
GEOS is a great place to study, the teachers are very friendly, and the staff too, you can feel like at home, because of all staff and friend of different classes know you. I took extra classes of grammar, business and TOEIC was perfect to improve my English skills.
Vancouver is beautiful, I visited other cities in Canada, but Vancouver is the best option, the people are friendly, is the perfect combination between mountains and sea, is a safe city, and in the summer time you can find many activities.
I used to live with a Homestay family, it was fantastic: they like to talk with you, that is perfect because you can practice with them too and of course they concern about you.
GEOS has many activities, we went to see a hockey game and we celebrated Halloween, also we have our own activities, because every Fridays we used to have same plan to go in Vancouver and we invited all the schools ,it was fun!
I miss already many things of Vancouver, friends, GEOS, Teachers and staff. I'll never forget it.

Before coming here, I was so nervous and worried about how this experience, the GEOS teachers and classes would be. However, now I am happy with myself because of my improvement in regards to speaking English. it was biggest challenge for me and I achieved.
also, I have met a lot of friends from different countries around the world such as Japan, korea, Spain, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey, Colombia, Peru, Philippines, etc. therefore, it has been amazing. I have shaved unbelievable and unforgettable moments that I'm sure I will never forget. moreover, I have acquired knowledge about life; I have learned other ways to live in Canada there are many people from different places in the world and you can learn about their culture, table manners, behaviour, customs, food, work, entertainment, etc.
For all these reasons, you must come here and be a witness of the beautiful, scenery and sightseeing that Vancouver has!

When I arrived in Vancouver, I was worried about a lot of things, especially English. But my teacher was very caring and looked after the students well. They provided a good atmosphere to learn English. Vancouver has a little but of everything; Mountains. Ocean, country side and busy downtown, It is a great place.

I'm Anaid from Mexico, I have 18 years old, I been in GEOS Vancouver for 3 months, in this school you always feel comfortable, GEOS Vancouver staff always take care for me, the instillations are good, and the environment is so good too. My first class here was ESL level 3, then I passed to level 4 and for the last I Tooke TEC (teaching English for Children) class, in all the classes, now I have an unforgettable experience.
The TEC class is very different than the classic classes, this is the best class I toke in my life, because the class is so fun, every day you can smile but in the same time you learn a lot of tricks and very easy, SEAN it's a great teacher, you should try this experience.

I had a great time and unforgettable at the wonderful GEOS School. The school system is so awesome, the teachers are so great and concentrate to teaching, also gave me a lot of help, they're easy to approach and I feel comfortable asking them anything and everything about studying. The lesson is so fun; I really love this school's system. Besides of studying that I got a diploma, I still got more experience about taking care of myself in another country, learned a lot from the new culture that I've never seen before, also I met lots of new friends from all over the world - it felt like a huge family! When I came to Vancouver I was confused but when the days passed by I felt GEOS was like home because everyone is friendly and teachers are awesome!
Now I can communicate in English with my new friends from all over the world and planning to go to The University in Canada soon!
Vancouver city is the best place I've been in the world, so the best way to know more about Vancouver is to visit it!!

I stayed here only for three weeks, and I think that next time I would stay here more.
I improved my English I think, even if I spoke less than I could. I liked my school friends and above all my teachers, they are very intelligent, and I learned a lot from them.
Here in Vancouver I lived with my cousins. I visit some places with them and I walked around alone for shopping or something else. I liked Vancouver, its landscapes and people.

I am David Isa, 21 years old mechanical engineering student from Argentina, South America. As I know how important it is and it will be for my career to have a great command of the English language I made the decision of coming to Vancouver to study. Studying is only part of my numerous activities that I made here thanks to GEOS Vancouver. When I came here, I didn't speak English because I haven't learned it at school before. I was kind of afraid to discover another country alone and without speaking the language... But everyone was friendly and very patient with me. I really enjoyed my TOEFL class and my TOEFL teacher but this is not all. GEOS Vancouver School is a little school, so after a while, all the students are like a big (and international) family and I started to go out and visit the city. My main objective to come to Canada was to improve my English skills for my job. I was a student at GEOS Vancouver for 8 weeks and it was an amazing and enriching experience. I found very wonderful classmates from everywhere (Japan, Korea, Mexico, Colombia,) also; I found high quality teachers and very nice staff. They always helped me in everything that I needed. I thank them because I have achieved my objective and my English has improved.
There is a really friendly atmosphere in the school, so I felt I was at home. It has been an experience I would like to repeat.

This time last year I decided to come here. My purpose was to improve my English skill and get a good score of TOEIC for job hunting.
Thank you good teachers, I was able to get a satisfactory score and improve my conversation ability not only that but I could get a lot of friends as well. Talking about other countries' cultures and customs with them was really interesting and that widened my horizons, I was able to get a lot of valuable experience in Vancouver in this last 6 months.

AWESOME is the word, I would like to use to define my experience in GEOS Vancouver, in Vancouver city, and in my internship. I have had one of my best experiences studying English in GEOS Vancouver; I feel I have a new family now and new language to speak with. Cannot express how good job they did to get for my internship and how much my English improved working in a Canadian ambience.

Hi my name is Zeus; I'm from Spain, the Canary Islands. I have studied in GEOS Vancouver for 3 months. GEOS Vancouver is incredible, the teachers are competent and there are so many interesting programs for learning English easily, another thing that I love about the school is the people, GEOS Vancouver is a middle-sized school, so we are like a family with very friendly staff.
If you want to learn and have a great time, then GEOS Vancouver must be your choice.

What should I say about Geos and Vancouver ? It's really worthy to come here. I've been travelling around the world and going to Geos Schools for another countries, but this one had something special.I don't if it was the people who was there, the staff, the city or just a join of all of those factors.
Learning English surrounded for this ambient helps students to improve and makes them to be willing to learn. In my personal xperience, I took TOEFL class, I though it would be a nightmare taking tests everyday, but it wasn't like this. The classes were so comfortable, and the atmosphere that we created there was so kind and special.
I don't even know all the members of the staff, but most of them seem to be so nice and friendly. That helps to the students, who are away from home for a short or long season to feel like in home.
Geos offers also a lot of differents activities to do during the week. Furthermore, you're able to book a trip at the school. It is worthy, not so expensive, and if you do the trip with your friends, for sure you'll enjoy !!
Just finishing this, say that Vancouver is a nice city, with loads of differents places inside, metropolitan, different cultures and people from around the whole planet. That give to the city and special thing that is difficult to explain, you must live here to see it.
I see it difficult to come back to Vancouver, because I want to keep travelling, and I hope that my following destiny would be Geos South Africa, who knows ? But for sure I won't forget all of you. THANKS !!!!

When I arried, I was so excited, I began in 3C level, and I week later I did the TOEFL exam
and I began to join in 4Alevel, and I was so excited. I used to be just with
Johan, a Colombian friend. But later I got lot of friends.
The classes were amazing. I really like to be in here,
because I feel that I learned a lo of things.

All the classes are useful and are preparing for challege your knowledge
I think GEOS Vancouver is an excellent place to study English and the teachers work

I would start this text talking about Vancouver firstand then about GEOS vancouver.
It has been a special month and I have met a lot of new people.
Also I have known beautiful places and I have improved my English too.
My classes were good, I have been with very friendly classmates
and I will never forget this experience and the activities I did were so fun.
I'll continue studying English and I hope to come back to vancouver again.
The places are wounderful and the homestay was fantastic,
my family was really friendly. I'll miss all of this when I come back to Spain.

GEOS Vancouver and Vancouver, if you want to enjoy the life you must go there.
Everything is fantastic, but the best is the people: Friendly and Funny!!
The classes aren't bored because there are a lot of speaking exercises
where you can talk to persons of differents cultures.
All the staff 9teachers included) are nice, funny and friendly!!
With the activities in GEOS Vancouver you can go to visit Vancouver,
make exercise, and in short words you will know the really spirit of Canada and his people.
When you think about Canada, more exactly vancouver
you will remember the snow and the cold, but that is completly false because

Travelling here to Vancouver alone, has been the most important experience that I've ever had.
at first, I was thinking about travelling to Australia or to New York
but finally I choose Vancouver (now, I know that I've chosen the best)
Ok, Vancouver is a younger city with a huge mixture of cultures from chinese people to Spanish people. I believe that this city is the most modern
place because of its age, the culture...
I'm really happy when when I remember every moment with every employee on EOS Vancouver.

I did the Internship Program in Vancouver and it was amazing. The best experience in my life!!
First I studied in TOEFL class for 3 months and then I started to work as a clerk.
I met people from different countries and learned about thier culture.
I met friends that I will carry for the rest of my life.
The teachers are great and they bring a lot of fun to the classroom which makes the learning much easier.
At work I have a great welcoming, they were all kind and understanding.
It was very good because I could practice my English.
It has been an amazing experience!

when I arrieved in Vancouver I found much more than I expected, I came to learn English and I'm leaving with a huge cultural baggage.
I improved my English considerably, but also made great friendship that I'm
sure will last, I have invitations to visit several other countries and I had so much fun.
Much of that happend because of the work of GEOS Vancouver school's professionals that helped me

I fell so glad and blassed that I could have know aout GEOS Vancouver Language School,

and attention that they always gave me since I came to Canada.
I could met such good friends from different countries,
I could learn a lot form each of my teachers, the classes are such fun moment to learn,
share knowledge and learn about the Canadsian culture as well.
Vancouver is a beautiful city full of opportunities to students, I'm actually coursing my dream career that is acting,
and I have already made some modeling here as well.

If someone asks me right now about my favourite city, for sure I will say Vancouver.
This summer has been one of the best I've ever had. The fact of having tall buildings
surrounded by ocean makes this city an amazing place to visit.
During this summer there were so many activities to enjoy
the 9 weeks were not enough. I wish I could've stayed longer.
But if there is something I really enjoyed was my time studying at GEOS.
The environment, the teachers and the classmates were key
for me to love this experience and of course, to improve my English skills.
The classes were amazing and we learnt a bunch of things.
As English teacher in my home country, I have to say the TEC Course
was really useful to improve my skills as teacher and I learnt
tricks to get my students involved with English as a second language.
I really want to thank to all the people who made this experience something unforgettable.
