Care & Connection

At Sprachcaffe, your children are in good hands.

Our young and well-trained supervisors - called Teamers - are there to guide, support and care for them every step of the way.

They're carefully selected, fully prepared for all kinds of situations, and always available to help. When putting together our teams for student language trips, we always ensure a balanced mix of experience, energy and care.

What our Teamers do for you

At SPRACHCAFFE Language Camps for Teenagers, your well-being always comes first. To make sure you feel safe and supported throughout your stay, we focus on these core aspects:

  1. Preparation: Support often begins even before the journey starts. Sprachcaffe provides information to help students and parents prepare for the trip. This includes destination details, cultural insights, packing lists, and organizational notes. We also collect information on your health, arrival details (if not booked through Sprachcaffe), and language level to ensure the best possible experience.
  2. On-Site Supervision: At the destination, our "teamers" - a team of supervisors - ensure the students' safety and well-being. These supervisors are usually young adults who primarily communicate in the local language and assist with everyday questions. They organize leisure programs, accompany students on excursions and activities, and serve as points of contact in case of problems or health concerns.
  3. Regular Check-Ins: Supervisors hold regular meetings or check-ins to ensure students are comfortable and doing well.
  4. 24-Hour Emergency Contact: Sprachcaffe generally provides a 24/7 hotline for emergencies so students or parents can get help at any time.
  5. Support with Courses and Accommodation: If students are staying with host families, the supervisors work closely with those families to ensure a safe and supportive environment. If a student feels uncomfortable in their course, our teamers are also the first point of contact.

Please keep in mind that the exact type of support can differ depending on the chosen programme and destination.

Team Composition

Experienced and new teamers bring a variety of backgrounds and complement each other perfectly. Thanks to the guidance of our long-standing team leaders, new team members are already completing their tasks successfully on their first assignments.

Many of our teamers have participated in a SPRACHCAFFE trip themselves and know exactly what situations to expect. Others volunteer with youth in their home countries - as sports coaches, tutors, or youth center leaders. These different experiences create the perfect mix on site to address all student needs and interests. To ensure each student receives the attention they need, one teamer is assigned to a maximum of 15 students.

Teamer Preparation

Of course, we conduct interviews and training seminars before the first trip to prepare our supervisors. In group discussions, case studies, and presentations, teamers learn how to handle various situations. Local youth protection laws are also covered. Those who complete the training receive a certificate.

Our teamers also receive cultural and logistical information about the destination and school. Only supervisors who are well-informed can confidently guide students through their language holidays. Once on site, an experienced coordinator and our school team are always available to support the supervisors.

Language trips are the best way to learn a language and explore new countries. You will attend a language course taught by native speakers with other international participants in a relaxed environment. By using the language outside the classroom, you will internalize what you've learned and make faster progress. You will not only develop a feeling for the language, but also for the people and the culture of the country you will spend your vacation in.

With SPRACHCAFFE's diverse offers, there's truly something for everyone!

A language trip can be an important step for your future - like your education or career. In today's world, it is very important to speak more than just your native language, with English being one of the most useful ones. Your personal development can also be positively influenced by being exposed to a new culture and being able to communicate with the locals in their own language. Especially for children and teenagers, language trips are a great way to promote independence, build self-confidence, and become friends with fellow international students.

This depends on your learning style and the goals you are pursuing with the language course. We offer standard, intensive, and individual language courses. On the following page you will find a detailed overview of all course types, intensities, and language levels.

Language trips for adults are suitable for participants aged 18 and older (exceptions can be made for 16 year olds). For teenagers aged 12 to 17 we offer supervised language trips for students tailored to the needs and hobbies of young people!
